Swallow the Sky

Tiderintal

Tiderintal

A great black pearl swallows the sky yet
compressed, itself, in the moist pink vice
of a mighty mollusk's mantle that
flexes about the kernal of its thought till
caucaphonous cracks in the atmosphere fly,
and seawater, like rain, rushes in,
and the droughty heart is satisfied.

~Michael Gabriel Booth, 24 August 1999
