Small Duckweed
Lemma minor

Height: level with water surface

Habitat: ponds and quiet water

Journal Entry: July 10
by Klint

Duckweed is one of the smallest and simplest flowering plants. It floats on the water surface, looking like handfuls of confetti flung onto the pond. Unlike water lilies, Duckweed roots do not reach all the way to the pond bottom. Ducks and geese find it especially tasty.
