1994: My Trip to Tortola

Everyone wants to go somewhere warm and fun for spring break! As a senior in high school, I got to go on a marine ecology trip to the island of Tortola in the Caribbean Ocean. We snorkeled, sailed and swam in the sea. I got to see lots of the animals I wrote about in A Swim through the Sea. This page shows a Four-Eye Butterfly Fish that I saw one day. In this journal, I used watercolors for all of my paintings. I only lost one of my brushes over the side of the sailboat. -K
